L'économie informelle à Cotonou: intéractions institutions et groupements féminins

Theories of methodological individualism and interactionism guided the study and helped to explain the persistence of the informal economy, despite the many actions of the state and civil society to reduce the magnitude of this phenomenon in Cotonou. The results obtained show that the persistence of the informal economy can be explained not only in social factors (poverty, illiteracy and the logic of pre-training), cultural (beliefs about money and wealth, beliefs related to strategies of products and the strength of the verb) and economic (low income and savings), but also in the form of control exercised by the State in the various collective actors involved.

Finally, the issues present in the informal economy involving different strategies actors explain and justify the persistence of informal activities in Cotonou.
