Profil épidémiologique, clinique, biologique et radiologique des maladies rhumatismales en milieu rural congolais (cas de la zone de santé de Gombe-Matadi, bas-Congo)

CONCLUSIONS

Au terme de cette étude, nous concluons que les maladies rhumatismales sont fréquentes et variées dans la zone de santé de Gombe-Matadi.

Elles sont dominées par l'arthrose, les maladies abarticulaires et les rhumatismes inflammatoires chroniques.

Ces affections sont surtout rencontrées chez des individus approchant la cinquantaine, avec une prédominance féminine.

Quelques différences démographiques ou cliniques ont été constatées pour certaines pathologies par rapport aux données de la littérature.

PERSPECTIVES

Ce travail ouvre les perspectives de recherche suivantes :

· Déterminer le profil immunologique et génétique de la population enquêtée ;

· Réaliser des études des cohortes ;

· Dégager quelques indicateurs utiles en vue de proposer aux décideurs de les insérer dans le système national d'information sanitaire ;

· Dégager un programme de prise en charge dans la communauté enquêtée.

RECOMMANDATIONS

Aux autorités de la Zone de Santé :

· de Considérer les affections rhumatismales comme un véritable problème de santé publique ;

· de proposer un paquet minimum d'activités pour faciliter la prévention à 3 niveaux :

- primaire pour aider la population à réduire l'exposition aux facteurs de risque dans l'environnement par l'éducation;

- secondaire en vue d'offrir une prise en charge correcte des rhumatisants par le médecin (la formation continue);

- tertiaire en vue de planifier et d'assurer l'administration et le suivi de soins spéciaux capable de réduire ou de minimiser l'handicap par le rhumatologue.
