ABSTRACT

In the physical and sporty activities, the stretching are considered like physical practices that are partially integrated in the sittings of warming-ups or in the phases of recuperation and at the end of sitting. They are in this case considered like a tool aiming to improve the performance. The objective of this research work is to propose a program of stretch exercises capable to avoid the injuries of the superior member. In this survey achieved under shape of investigation, the data have been collected at twenty three (23) players of the club lion handisport of Cotonou. The introverted data showed that the players get injured more to the superior member level (82,60%) and more precisely to the level of the shoulder (52,63%). They used the stretching to warn the injuries. The relative data to the length of practice of the stretching are not compliant to the data of the literature. It is what could explain the injuries contracted by the players. A program of stretch well conceived could help the wheelchair basketball player to warn the injuries.

Key words: Muscular stretching, wheelchair basketball player, program of stretching.
